Units designed for wet/damp locations, include self-testing diagnostics

Burgaw, N.C. – June 21, 2007 - Chloride introduces an exceptional development in exit signage. The Tuff-Act is wet/damp location listed, -40°F (-40°C) to 113°F (45°C), and is stylish for any architectural setting while sturdy enough for extreme environments. Energy Star rated, illumination is achieved with the use of long-lasting, high-brightness LEDs. Tuff-Act is available in AC Only and Self-Powered models, and comes standard with Intelli-Charge self-testing diagnostics electronics for long-lasting reliability. The Intelli-Charge diagnostics continuously monitors all critical functions of the Tuff-Act and self-testing satisfies the monthly periodic testing requirements in NFPA 101 and the IBC.

Tuff-Act’s vandal-resistant hardware makes it ideal for any location requiring security installations. This innovative exit utilizes die-cast aluminum housing with premium, impact-resistant, injection-molded polycarbonate covers. All exposed hardware is vandal-resistant and anti-corrosion coated, making Tuff-Act perfect for weather exposed areas such as parking garages, outdoor concourses, and courtyards.

Three housing color choices are available, and stencil faces may be ordered to match or ordered in an attractively brushed aluminum finish. Tuff-Act can be ordered with single or double face, and is equipped with field-selectable chevrons.

The Tuff-Act provides 120 minutes of emergency power with its maintenance-free, sealed nickel cadmium battery. This reliable product has a designed service life of 10 years.
