The Central Station Alarm Association (CSAA) announced last week that the Alarm Industry Communications Committee (AICC) has launched an industry-wide survey on the issue of dropped signals involving Digital Alarm Communications Transmitters (DACT). The survey aims to collect information on how the telecom networkās move towards Internet Protocol (IP) affects these signals.
āWe want to better understand the impact these changes have on alarm communications coming into central stations,ā said Gordon Hope, vice president of marketing and business development at Honeywell and a member of the CSAA Board of Directors. āOr signals not coming in, as the case may be.ā
The survey can be found at csaaintl.org/dact-dropped-signals-surveyĀ and is open to all central stations in the industry.
Results of this research initiative will be reported at the next AICC meetings in March and June.
