AICC launches industry-wide research project

The Central Station Alarm Association (CSAA) announced last week that the Alarm Industry Communications Committee (AICC) has launched an industry-wide survey on the issue of dropped signals involving Digital Alarm Communications Transmitters (DACT). The survey aims to collect information on how the telecom networkā€™s move towards Internet Protocol (IP) affects these signals.

ā€œWe want to better understand the impact these changes have on alarm communications coming into central stations,ā€ said Gordon Hope, vice president of marketing and business development at Honeywell and a member of the CSAA Board of Directors. ā€œOr signals not coming in, as the case may be.ā€

The survey can be found at csaaintl.org/dact-dropped-signals-surveyĀ and is open to all central stations in the industry.

Results of this research initiative will be reported at the next AICC meetings in March and June.
