Penetration testing of electronic door access control systems

April 19, 2010

This video of a presentation by Shawn Merdinger (U. of Florida) at CarolinaCon VI looks at how an IT security professional performed penetration testing on a common electronic door access control system. Besides examining an IT hack on the EAS systems' database, Merdinger also references the GAO efforts at pentration testing access control systems for federal buildings. Here's my favorite quote from the presentation: "When an attacker gains physical access, it's game over."
