MAPS, Monitoring Application for Perimeter Supervision is an in-house developed software from PROTECH that gives users the ability to alert security personnel and first responders of perimeter intrusions so they can address threats more efficiently and effectively.
The server-based configuration software makes it easy for operators to create real-time representations (views) of sites in one and/or several screen captures. Users can see a global view of the site and then click and zoom into specific areas to assess the threat and respond.
MAPS software adds another dimension to our already extensive perimeter systems solutions whereby we can easily customize the software to satisfy our customer’s requirements for monitoring and supervision,” said Larry Thomas, COO, PROTECH.
For example, the software can be set-up with navigation menus or as a tree structure with the ability to click and zoom in on a specific area. Automated video pre-sets can be set up for intrusion confirmation and recording.
Each screen is populated with of a set of graphic objects such as sections of the perimeter that will appear in different colors upon intrusion, or when there are status changes in equipment. These objects and alarms are centralized on a supervision monitor and easily viewed for quick response.
Thomas said the key benefit of this new tool is that intervention for intrusions is faster and more efficient. Set-up, monitoring and management can be done remotely thanks to the -based interface. MAPS integrate seamlessly with leading Video Management Systems such as Milestone and Genetec. An SDK (API) is available for other VMS systems.
