Macomb Community College Offers Training for Security Guards
To meet the increasing need for properly trained security personnel, Macomb Community College’s Criminal Justice Training Center (CJTC) is now offering Security Officer Training.
The training is designed to improve on-the-job performance, improve retention and reduce turnover, help recruit quality candidates, reduce on-site risks, reduce costs, create confidence between the officer and client, improve company image and strengthen reputation and help make companies more competitive.
“Our security training programs can be designed for the specific needs of any business. Courses are a la cart,†said Michael Metz, director of Macomb’s Public Service Institute. “Through our program, security companies can certify their employees.â€
Properly trained security personal are in high demand. According to the U.S. Department of Labor, security jobs at all levels will grow 31.8 percent by 2012.
The following courses are available for security officers in all industry sectors: chemical sprays and tactics; CPR/first aid; crime scene; fire suppression; firearms training; hazardous materials response; impact weapons; incident command; search techniques; subject control; supervision and management; and verbal intervention.
Macomb Community College offers flexible hours and affordable tuition. Upon successful completion of courses, participants will be awarded professional certification from Macomb’s Public Service Institute.
