Company repositions brands, coordinates marketing and support for enhanced industry presence

The ASSA ABLOY Group announced today that two of its companies, ESSEX Industries and YSG Door Security Consultants, have been united to create a new, solutions-oriented group. The new division, which goes by the name of ASSA ABLOY Door Security Solutions, will be providing sales and marketing support for the solutions group's 12 brands of doors and architectural hardware.

The ESSEX sales force and the independent sales agencies for YSG have been unified into the Door Security Solutions team, so that the company's products will be offered with consistent representation.

"This removes internal boundaries and enables us to offer the market a wider variety of life safety and security packages and solutions unmatched in our industry," said Tom Kaika, v.p. of sales, in a prepared statement.

"We expect the restructured organization to make a significant impact in the North American market," said Vice President of Sales Joe Hynds.

Also announced in conjunction with the group merger, was that ASSA ABLOY group companies are planning to accelerate new product development, notably with the LiteGuide emergency egress pathway lighting system, ElectroLynx pre-wired doors, frames and compatible "plug-and-play" electrified hardware, and Windstorm Certified openings.

ASSA ABLOY Door Security Solutions will provide support for the following brands: Ceco Door, Corbin Russwin, Curries, Folger Adam EDC, Graham, HES, McKinney, Norton, Rixson, Sargent, Securitron and Yale.
