SwiftConnect has acquired Trecerdo, adding hardware-level access control integration and elevator destination-dispatch capabilities to its connected access platform.

The New York-based company said the acquisition expands its ability to support complex, multi-layered security environments by strengthening integration across hardware, software, platforms and devices. Trecerdo is a boutique engineering firm known for embedded software development and for bridging access control platforms with downstream hardware and elevator systems.

According to SwiftConnect, Trecerdo’s expertise enhances its end-to-end integration capabilities and supports customer demand for more seamless access solutions tailored to specific building requirements and risk profiles.

Chip Kruger, co-CEO of SwiftConnect, said in an announcement that the acquisition extends the company’s ability to address challenging physical access use cases across multiple layers of technology. He added that the deal deepens SwiftConnect’s embedded software and destination-dispatch integration expertise, helping the company respond to increased demand for elevator security.

Treccerdo brings decades of experience working at the hardware-facing layer, integrating controllers, downstream devices and destination-dispatch systems. Its embedded software development services will be incorporated into SwiftConnect’s custom solutions portfolio, which already includes software-level access control integration capabilities from the company’s earlier Detrios and FlitchTech acquisitions.

As part of the transaction, Trecerdo’s Ascend elevator interface will become a product offering within the SwiftConnect connected access platform. The company said the solution has already been deployed in high-rise environments, including landmark buildings and major enterprises.

Jonathan Lawry, principal of Trecerdo, said the firm has built its reputation over more than two decades by solving complex hardware integration challenges and enabling disparate systems to communicate reliably. He said joining SwiftConnect represents a natural next step that will allow the team to apply its technical depth within a modern connected access platform.

Lawry and his team of developers will join SwiftConnect’s custom solutions group effective immediately.
