PCSC Security Partners With Davista to Add Predictive Analytics to Access Control

PCSC Security announced a technology partnership with Davista.ai to bring AI-powered predictive analytics to its physical access control software. The initiative, called Predictive Security, is designed to help security teams spot changes in activity and decide where to investigate.

The technology adds an analytics layer to LiNC-NXG, PCSC’s physical security information management software. It can analyze access events, alarms, door activity, camera triggers and access violations together to identify patterns across a facility or campus. Where appropriate, teams can correlate those events with other security and operational data.

For PCSC integrators and resellers, the partnership could bring new analytics capabilities to existing customers and new installations using PCSC’s underlying access control infrastructure.

“Access control has traditionally been very good at telling us what happened,” said Mas Kosaka, president and CEO of PCSC. “With Predictive Security, we are taking the next step, helping security professionals understand patterns of activity, visualize what is happening across their environment, and identify where their attention may be needed.”

Heat maps and guard tour recommendations

Activity heat maps show where alarms, access violations, camera triggers and other events are concentrated. Security personnel can use the maps to spot areas with unusual or elevated activity and examine the events behind it.

The technology can also recommend guard tours based on current activity, historical patterns and changing conditions. A rise in alarms, repeated events or unusual access patterns could prompt a recommendation to focus patrols on a particular area.

Dashboards for monitoring and investigations

By analyzing historical and real-time access activity, the system can flag attempts outside normal hours, repeated access denials and unexpected movement between locations. An Access Control Dashboard is designed to surface those patterns for day-to-day monitoring, while an Investigative Dashboard supports closer examination of the people, credentials, locations or events involved.

PCSC and Davista are developing and refining the capabilities for applications including enterprise facilities, government, education, health care, financial services and critical infrastructure. The companies are also working with customers and partners to identify potential uses.
