Multilink Introduces Vandal-Resistant Access Control Readers with Fingerprint Control

Reader adds biometric fingerprint control to Prox or Wiegand and keypad system
Aug. 1, 2005

Multilink Access Control Systems have launched a new Biometric Fingerprint Reader for use with their access control systems. The BIO-Flex reader provides positive identity verification without compromising user convenience. Ideal for retrofits, the BIO-Flex reader adds a biometric layer of security to an existing Proximity / Wiegand reader and/or keypad. The self-contained fingerprint reader provides optimum security enhancement without reissuing cards or replacing existing readers.

The reader has the capability to store up to 4000 fingerprints and integrates with Amadeus 5 Access Control software, which offers simple template management for enrolment, distribution and reader configuration. A unique cable bus allows controllers and the fingerprint reader to be connected to the central computer and installation is simple with pre-prepared cables and single-gang or mullion mount compatibility.

According to Mike Castro, MD of Multilink, "Users love this new fingerprint reader with its intuitive user interface and simple, one-touch enrolment. This is a really cost effective way to introduce an extra layer of security to any organisation."

Further details about the Multilink fingerprint readers are available on Multilink's website.
