HID India Private Limited Established to Deliver Contactless Smart Card Products

    Harish Vellat named managing director for HID India; appoints sales and operations staff

    Bangalore, Karnataka, India -- HID Corporation, the premier manufacturer of contactless access control cards and readers for the security industry, today announced the company has established HID India Private Limited to serve the access control market in India. To lead this new business establishment, Harish Vellat has been named India’s Managing Director.

    To support the growing market demand for access control products in the India region, this new office will be established in Bangalore to increase HID’s ability to provide localized service, customer and technical support. This office will also facilitate India’s operational support including product fulfillment, warehousing, and specialized smart card services for increased card security.

    “During the last two years, Mr. Vellat has done an exceptional job increasing our sales network and expanding HID’s market share in India,” said Lester Doig, HID’s Asia Pacific managing director. “We are extremely fortunate to have him as a member of the Asia Pacific team that brings access control solutions to this rapidly growing marketplace.”

    Reporting to Lester Doig, Vellat will manage HID India establishing India-based sales and operations and is also responsible for identifying and developing business expansion and growth initiatives into new markets and service offerings.

    Vellat was previously HID’s regional sales manager in India. Prior to HID, Vellat worked for NIIT India as area head in business development and regional sales manager in the southern India region. With over ten years of experience in strategic sales and marketing in the Asia Pacific region, Vellat spent the last five years in information technology solutions. He also has extensive operations and managing experience.

    Additional appointments to HID India include John Kurien as operations manager; Pradeep Upadhyaya as finance manager, Ranjit Nambiar as national sales manager, Shrirang Satwe as regional sales manager for India West, Sandhya Gopintath as customer service manager, and Shradha Bhonsle as technical support engineer.
