CARMEL, IN – March 26, 2012 – Ingersoll Rand Security Technologies, a leading global provider of security and safety solutions and manufacturer of Schlage contactless smart credentials and readers, announced that BadgePass customers can leverage Schlage AD-Series wireless locks and intelligent controllers. With no wire to pull or trenches to dig, a wireless lock avoids the costs and installation headaches of wired technologies. It takes an average of less than an hour to install versus six to eight hours for a wired alternative. BadgePass customers will also be able to easily extend their BadgePass solutions to access points such as elevators and parking lots.

"Because the BadgePass system is so flexible, we have been fortunate to implement it in a variety of unique vertical markets," attests Lindsay Cornell, BadgePass dealer manager. "Working with the Schlage AD wireless locks now gives us the ability to add even more flexibility and functionality to our access control solution, letting our customers easily expand and grow their systems as their access control requirements change."

As a rule of thumb, implementing wireless access control significantly reduces installation time, system costs and disruption to the facility during installation. For these reasons, among others, almost 70 percent of new electronic locking systems now incorporate wireless.

"With Schlage AD-Series wireless savings, security professionals using BadgePass systems can now extend the reach of their card-based solution to applications that previously could not be economically achieved," emphasizes Karen Keating, Ingersoll Rand Security Technologies product marketing manager, electronics. As a peripheral to the access control software, the AD-Series provides a unique level of security, productivity, flexibility and adaptability to the security professional. BadgePass has also added Schlage's PIM400-1501 to its product line. With the AD-Series and Mercury's IP intelligent controller, up to 16 BadgePass wireless locks can be managed with a single IP connection.
