IRVINE, Calif., May 14, 2012 – HID Global, trusted leader in solutions for the delivery of secure identity, today announced its EasyLobby Secure Visitor Management software is being used by Trinity Real Estate to streamline tenant control of visitor access at commercial real estate properties that the firm manages in Lower Manhattan, New York City. HID Global’s EasyLobby SVM software provides tenants with a reliable, secure and easy-to-use system for approving or denying visitor access.
Trinity Real Estate’s tenants include modeling and film agencies and photography service providers who can average up to 400 visitors a day during special events such as casting calls. Managing visitors had been a complicated and trouble-prone task with Trinity Real Estate’s prior system. With the HID Global EasyLobby solution, employees now simply fill out a one-page entry form on the computer, including the visitors’ names plus who they will be seeing, where they will be going, and their arrival and departure dates and times. Each visitor’s driver’s license is then scanned upon arrival and matched to the visitor request form by the EasyLobby software. Trinity also plans to add passport-scanning in the near future. After the identification is validated, the system prints a badge with a bar code including standard guest access information that the visitor presents to a card reader in the lobby to gain entry.
“It takes approximately 20 seconds for a person to be cleared at the lobby desk after the employee completes the entry form on his or her desktop computer,” said Lois Martano, security technology manager at Trinity Real Estate. “The EasyLobby system is also helpful with repeat visitors. For example, if an actor is coming to the building to film part of a movie for two weeks, his visitor pass will expire after that period. However, if the company calls the actor back to reshoot some of the footage, it’s not necessary to create a new entry from scratch. An employee can retrieve the entry screen for a past visit, change the dates, and resubmit the visitor pass request.”
The HID Global EasyLobby SVM software also simplifies the process of replacing lost visitor badges and invalidating the old ones, checking with the appropriate employee if an expired visitor badge is presented at the lobby, and monitoring the number of visitors in the building so there is instant information in the event of an emergency evacuation. Additionally, tenants can create “watch” lists of visitors who will not be permitted entry, and run reports about visitor volume and activity during specified timeframes.
The HID Global EasyLobby system that Trinity Real Estate installed includes a software program with a Web interface, an identification scanner, and paper badges, which are integrated with access control systems and turnstiles that were already installed in the building lobbies. In addition to speeding and simplifying visitor management, the solution also provides Trinity Real Estate with proven reliability.
