ASSA ABLOY announces acquisitions in Brazil and Switzerland

Company acquires Papaiz and Udinese in Brazil; CEDES in Switzerland

ASSA ABLOY has signed agreements to acquire Papaiz, a lock company, and Udinese, a manufacturer of hardware for sliding doors and windows in Brazil. The company has also signed an agreement to acquire the Swiss company CEDES, a company specializing in sensor technology to the door and elevator industry.

CEDES was established in 1986 and has some 340 employees. The company is headquartered in Landquart, Switzerland.

The Brazil transactions were expected to close during Q4 2015; the Swiss transaction is expected to close during Q1 2016.
