App to be made available on multiple smartphone and tablet platforms

New York, NY (April 25, 2012) – The lives of thousands of luxury apartment dwellers across New York City just got a whole lot easier. Virtual Service, the leader in advanced video security systems, today announced the launch of its new Virtual Doorman mobile application – Virtual Doorman On the Go. The app will be available mid-May on multiple smartphone and tablet platforms for residents in buildings secured by the company’s proprietary remote doorman service. The new mobile application will enable users to communicate more effectively and rapidly by streamlining communication with Virtual Doorman.

Similar to the existing Virtual Doorman Interactive Web Portal, the new app will allow residents to remotely manage their account and perform tasks such as inputting authorization for guests and visitors, scheduling package deliveries, requesting maintenance, and more – all from the convenience of a mobile device. Building-related problems can be reported quickly and easily. A Building Contacts page also includes contact information for the building owner, building manager, and superintendent.

“Residents are always on the go and are looking for ways to manage day-to-day activities,” said Colin Foster, the company’s President. “Offering our services through a smartphone app will further enhance the convenience that residents enjoy from Virtual Doorman.” Not only are users able to fully manage their account from any location, a click of the “Contact My Virtual Doorman” button will directly connect them to the operators via phone or email. The app enables residents to quickly retrieve information on packages and deliveries received and even remain fully informed of household activities such as cleaning, childcare and pet care staff comings and goings.

App users can order new building access cards or page through a history of their past visitors with an up-to-date guest and delivery log. Even on the go, residents are able to check who currently has access to the building and make adjustments when necessary. Need to send Virtual Doorman a photo of a guest to help with identification? With the new app, residents can choose to take a photo with their smartphone or upload an existing shot to the Web Portal with a simple click.
