ProdataKey (PDK) has introduced Units, a new feature for its cloud-based access control platform designed to simplify access management for multi-family housing properties.

The feature enables administrators and managers to organize apartments, condominiums, rooms and other residential spaces into individually managed Units. Within each Unit, users and devices can be assigned with customized move-in and move-out dates, helping property managers track occupancy and automate tasks such as removing a user's access after a lease expires.

According to PDK, the feature is intended to streamline how residential spaces are secured and managed while making access control easier to oversee across apartment communities.

"The Units feature has introduced an opportunity for all of our sites to handle problems of complexity in a simple and easy way," said Couper Sorenson, PDK's Senior Product Manager.

Units also expands capabilities for end users through the PDK Access app. Users can generate audit trails, create schedules, monitor lock battery health and configure door activity notifications, among other functions.

With the introduction of Units, PDK said it continues its focus on delivering access control solutions that are easy to deploy, simple to manage and capable of supporting the changing needs of both commercial and residential environments.
