3xLOGIC has introduced VIGIL 13.5, the latest release of its VIGIL Video Management System (VMS), adding AI Bridge and Face Recognition to help organizations deploy AI-powered video analytics and security intelligence without replacing existing camera infrastructure.

According to the company, VIGIL 13.5 is designed to improve operational awareness, automate security workflows and modernize surveillance capabilities while allowing users to maximize their existing camera investments.

A key addition in the release is AI Bridge, a hardware layer that applies edge-based deep learning analytics to video from existing IP cameras. The technology enables legacy camera deployments to support intelligent detection and real-time alerts without requiring a complete hardware refresh.

The company said AI Bridge allows dealers and integrators to introduce AI capabilities into existing customer environments while helping organizations extend the lifespan of current camera infrastructure and avoid costly rip-and-replace projects.

AI Bridge supports analytics including person, vehicle, object, perimeter and loitering detection as well as dwell time, people counting and fall detection. The feature is intended for applications across retail, education, healthcare, hospitality and entertainment, warehouses and smart city environments.

3xLOGIC highlighted several use cases, including object detection for monitoring unexpected vehicles on academic campuses or warehouse yards, fall detection in clinics and care homes, entry and exit detection to alert staff to possible absconding, and people counting to improve queue management in retail locations. The platform can also use intrusion detection to secure back offices and stockrooms while dwell time analytics help identify high-traffic areas in stores.

The release also emphasizes flexibility through a vendor-neutral platform that supports mixed camera environments and can be centrally configured through the VIGIL Server Management Utility (VSMU). Organizations can deploy AI Bridge alongside 3xLOGIC's Edge-Based Deep Learning cameras within a single VIGIL installation.

VIGIL 13.5 also introduces Face Recognition capabilities designed to help security teams move from passive video monitoring to proactive awareness. Using edge-based AI processing, the feature enables organizations to create secure local watchlists, receive real-time alerts when persons of interest are detected, search recorded footage and automate workflows triggered by facial recognition events.

According to the company, facial recognition processing takes place at the edge to help organizations maintain control of sensitive data while improving investigation speed, situational awareness and employee efficiency.

The latest version also integrates with the broader 3xLOGIC ecosystem, including VIGIL CLOUD, PACOM VIGIL CORE and SONITROL CORE, allowing AI analytics to be deployed across on-premises, cloud and hybrid environments. AI Bridge is available through either a perpetual license for on-premises deployments or as a subscription through VIGIL CLOUD.
