The Apollo Security ASP-RI4 is an OSDP certified four reader (both OSDP and Wiegand) interface available in serial and network versions. This downstream board provides a most economical solution for supporting OSDP and Wiegand readers beyond the number that can be connected directly to Apollo ASP controllers.
Communications between this reader interface and Apollo ASP controllers, and also between this reader interface and OSDP readers, utilize OSDP secure communications. If using network communications between the controller and serial interface, TLS1.3 is supported. Cardholder information is stored on the ASP-RI4 to provide access decisions if the ASP-RI4 is offline.
There is no longer a need to go to a degraded facility code if the reader interface has lost communications with the controller.
The ASP-RI4 reader interface and other Apollo products provide economical and flexible solutions not available from other companies for supporting OSDP readers.
