Lumidigm names Mark Shermetaro CEO

Co-founder Bob Harbour to remain on as executive chairman

Feb. 7, 2012 - Biometrics imaging firm Lumidigm Inc. has announced that board member Mark Shermetaro is now CEO. The decision was made by the board of directors. Bob Harbour, the previous CEO will stay on as executive chairman of the board of directors. Harbour was also co-founder of the company.

Shermetaro is no stranger to Lumidigm, having served on the biometric company's board for two years. He moves over from a role as vice president of business development at Methode Electronics.

Harbour credited Shermetaro's "market-focused business development skills" as need for a period of "rapid revenue growth and ambitious product development." Under Harbour's management, the firm saw three successive years of sustained growth and record revenues, and Harbour said that Shermetaro was poised to "accelerate the maturation of this company."

Lumidigm produces fingerprint sensors and fingerprint reading modules for electronic door access control, network log-on, and time-and-attendance applications.
