Companies to develop solution that combines weapons and contraband detection with facial recognition

View Systems, a provider of concealed weapons detection solutions and biometric identification video platforms, announced this week that it has partnered with facial recognition firm National Security Resources.

In a statement the companies said that they plan to integrate their respective technologies to develop a "more comprehensive weapons detection and positive identification system incorporating facial recognition."

The integrated solution will reportedly utilize "scan and match facial recognition" while also scanning for weapons and contraband.

One of the first installations for the integrated "ViewScan" systems will be the school entrances of the Detroit School System.

"This project represents a major advance in security at a time when the need is critical, and we look forward to delivering this product line with View Systems," NSR Founder Dr. Glenn Crowe said in the statement.
