Companies align to provide biometric identity matching tools to homeland security and intelligence community

FAIRFAX, Va. -- The Analysis Corporation (TAC), a leading provider of counter-terrorism and anti-crime systems and services, announced that it has formed an alliance with Viisage (Nasdaq: VISGE) of Billerica, MA in order to offer powerful identity matching tools which provide the most accurate text and biometric matching abilities. The passage of the Intelligence Reform and Terrorism Prevention Act of 2004, which calls for a biometric entry and exit data system, presents TAC and Viisage with opportunities for new solutions to help the government achieve these mandates. Both companies have long-term relationships with the Department of State including development of the terrorist watch list, facial recognition for duplicate analysis of the Diversity Visa program, and the production of passports and anti-fraud databases for visas and passports.

Together, TAC and Viisage will offer solutions for government agencies to produce accurate searches of individuals in watch lists and databases. The combined identity search and data mining capabilities of these commercial off- the-shelf (COTS) software development kits make this tool especially powerful to positively identify individuals who have records in large databases. With an open systems architecture, advanced textual search technologies, and face recognition technology software, the solution can assist government agencies to identify terrorists on a watch list, find duplicate records, and confirm or deny aliases. These applications can be easily customized for government and commercial users for credentialing, security checks, access control and web- based pattern matching.
