Long Beach, CA -- iAccess Systems, Inc. is pleased to announce that the VA-100G finger Blood Vessel Authentication System has been tested and has passed the requirements contained in the Underwriter Laboratory (UL) Specification UL294 for Standard Access Control Systems.

When selecting biometric readers to authenticate user access to restricted areas or to positively verify identification, it is imperative that customers have the highest quality product possible. iAccess therefore made the decision to obtain UL Listing and provide that customer assurance.

iAccess Systems is a Sales/Marketing firm that has partnered with Bionics Co., Ltd from Osaka, Japan to introduce new biometric access control technology to the American, European and Middle Eastern markets.

The VA-100 is the first finger Blood Vessel Authentication device to be introduced in the Americas. It features a two-factor system that uses a PIN number in addition to the unique image of the blood vessel pattern in a finger for enrollment and authentication. The blood vessel image is created using a permeating, near-infrared light and a high resolution CCD camera.

The image is digitized, stored as a template and recalled when the user tries to gain physical access to a secure area. Access is granted or denied based on the successful comparison of a new image with the stored template. Authentication time is less then two seconds.

Because vein patterns are next to impossible to duplicate, the system can authenticate an individual with a False Acceptance Rate (FAR) of one in one million and a False Rejection Rate (FRR) of below one percent. This makes the system especially effective for high security applications such as airports and financial institutions. Although it is the latest in technology, the VA-100 is non-invasive and easy to install, use and maintain.

The VA-100 is available as a stand-alone unit or as a node in a network. It can also interface with 3rd party access control systems. Standard systems support 800 users with an optional expansion to 3000 users. Entry/Exit Management software provides auditing and reporting functions.
