PointCentral has introduced what it describes as the industry’s first online multi-credential Z-Wave lock fully integrated with perimeter access and remote property management, designed to simplify access for residents while centralizing control for property managers.
Developed in collaboration with Yale, part of Fortune Brands Innovations, the new 800 Series Z-Wave Long Range mortise lock combines RFID badge access with Z-Wave remote management to create a unified access solution tailored for multifamily housing environments.
The system allows residents to use a single credential such as a badge to enter a community and unlock their apartment. Property managers can also issue PIN codes for self-guided tours, vendors or residents who prefer keypad entry. The lock supports RFID access badges including prox cards, key fobs and tags, along with optional concurrent keypad PIN code access and Z-Wave Long Range connectivity.
The solution integrates with perimeter access controls and can be centrally managed through the PointCentral Dashboard, enabling property teams to remotely manage credentials, monitor access activity and oversee operations from a single platform.
“This is about simplifying access for residents while giving operators a single, unified, and flexible system to manage,” said Matt Correnti, Head of Enabling Technologies at PointCentral. “By merging RFID credentials with Z-Wave remote management, we’re pushing the market forward with a lock solution designed specifically for the realities of multifamily living.”
According to the companies, the system is designed to streamline property operations and improve the resident experience. By combining perimeter and unit access within one platform, the solution eliminates the need for separate infrastructure typically required by traditional access control systems.
“Partnering with PointCentral allows us to bring Yale’s trusted access solutions directly into the multifamily space in a way that is seamless and intuitive for both residents and property managers,” said Garrett Lovejoy, SVP and General Manager of Connected Security at Fortune Brands Innovations. “We’re excited to help redefine what secure, convenient access looks like for modern communities.”
Operational features include a unified access experience for residents, support for self-guided tours through temporary PIN codes and tools designed to streamline “no-tour” resident onboarding.
The new multi-credential Z-Wave lock will be showcased at the ISC West 2026 at the Alarm.com booth from March 23–27 in Las Vegas. A limited early release is expected to follow for select multifamily partners, with broader availability planned for 2026.
