Allegion Launches Campus-to-Community Student Living Solutions for Off-Campus Housing

Students use mobile credentials through Apple Wallet and Google Wallet as part of Allegion US Campus-to-Community Student Living solutions designed for off-campus housing environments.
Allegion US announced its Campus-to-Community Student Living solutions, a new offering designed to help off-campus student housing operators meet evolving student expectations while enhancing security and streamlining operations.
According to the company, the solution is intended to address challenges unique to off-campus student housing environments, including compressed turnover cycles, increasing demand for connected living experiences and disconnected technology systems.
“For years, off-campus student housing has been viewed as multifamily with younger residents, but the reality is much more complex,” said Tyler Webb, Mobile Ambassador at Allegion. “Operators are navigating compressed turnover cycles, rising demand for connected living experiences and disconnected tech systems. Campus-to-Community Student Living creates a unified, mobile-first ecosystem that eliminates fragmentation and seamlessly links the student experience from campus to couch.”
At the center of the Campus-to-Community Student Living platform is a connected ecosystem that combines hardware, mobile credentials and software partners into an interoperable environment. The company said the platform enables student housing operators to deliver a unified mobile credential experience across both on-campus and off-campus settings.
The solution incorporates Schlage’s Resident Key, which is available through Apple Wallet and Google Wallet. Using mobile credentials stored on devices including iPhone, Apple Watch, Android phones and Wear OS smartwatches, students can access residences, amenities and campus facilities.
Allegion said the platform is designed to provide operational and financial benefits for off-campus operators through streamlined turnover processes, reduced rekeying costs, fewer lockouts and integrated property management workflows. The company also said the system is intended to create a seamless mobile-first resident experience while improving visibility, reliability and control across the access experience for parents.
Earlier this year, Allegion partnered with Preiss, IRIS Technologies and Quext to deploy what it described as the nation’s first off-campus student housing mobile wallet experience at The Collective at Norman serving students at University of Oklahoma. Following the launch, the company said residents and property staff reported improved convenience, optimized operations and fewer after-hours lockouts.
Allegion said the Campus-to-Community Student Living solutions are backed by its network of software and integration partners and are intended to provide off-campus student housing operators with a connected platform designed to simplify operations and improve the resident experience.
