Epson Unveils ColorWorks CW-D3800 and Label Boost Software Suite
Epson has introduced the ColorWorks CW-D3800, a compact and affordable color label and badge printer designed to help small businesses produce on-demand labels while keeping costs manageable. The company also unveiled the Label Boost software suite, a collection of no-cost label design and printing tools for Epson label printers.
The ColorWorks CW-D3800 is engineered for reliable, low-volume color label printing and is designed for applications including visitor management as well as custom, private-label and seasonal product labeling. According to Epson, the printer is intended to provide businesses with a flexible and simple labeling solution while producing professional-quality results.
Andrew Kim, product manager at Epson America, said the CW-D3800 addresses the need for an affordable, on-demand color label printer that helps businesses remain adaptable and cost-conscious while maintaining a professional brand image.
Kim also noted growing demand for visitor management solutions in education, healthcare, corporate and government environments where organizations require a simple way to create identification badges. He said color visitor badges offer fast visual recognition and can enhance access control and security response.
Alongside the new printer, Epson announced the Label Boost software suite, which includes Label Boost Designer, Label Boost Concierge and Label Boost Shipper.
Label Boost Designer is a no-cost design and print application for ColorWorks and select Epson thermal label printers. The software provides a drag-and-drop interface that allows businesses to create labels, visitor badges, shelf tags and food labels using text, images, QR codes, barcodes and templates.
Label Boost Concierge is designed for visitor management and event check-in, allowing organizations to print badges on demand from desktop or mobile devices while using badge designs created in Label Boost Designer.
Label Boost Shipper, previously known as Label Boost Software, enables businesses to design and print full-color shipping labels that incorporate promotional graphics, QR codes and other branding elements.
The ColorWorks CW-D3800 features Epson's PrecisionCore permanent printhead, which is designed to last the life of the printer while delivering consistent performance with minimal downtime. Using dye-based ink, the printer produces color labels at resolutions up to 600 x 1200 dpi and supports roll and fanfold media ranging from 1 inch to 4.25 inches wide.
The printer also offers optional Wi-Fi connectivity for mobile printing through the Epson ColorWorks Print App. It supports Windows, iOS and Linux operating systems, includes Epson ESC/Label emulation and features a color LCD screen, automatic Nozzle Verification Technology and simplified ink and media loading.
Epson said its ColorWorks printer lineup is designed to help businesses simplify labeling and packaging operations with on-demand, full-color label and badge printing while reducing production time and maintaining consistent labeling quality.
