Ouster completed its acquisition of StereoLabs SAS in early February, adding the AI vision company as a wholly owned subsidiary.

Ouster (Nasdaq: OUST) has completed its acquisition of StereoLabs SAS, a move the company says creates a unified sensing and perception platform for Physical AI. The deal closed on February 4 and makes StereoLabs a wholly owned subsidiary of Ouster, which develops high-resolution digital 3D lidar sensors for autonomous vehicles, industrial applications, robotics, drones, mapping, defense and security systems.

With the acquisition, Ouster now combines its digital lidar technology with StereoLabs’ AI vision and perception software and camera hardware into a single platform that also includes AI compute and sensor fusion capabilities. The company announced the combined offering supports customers building advanced perception systems across industries including robotics, industrial automation and smart infrastructure.

StereoLabs, founded in 2010, has shipped more than 90,000 ZED cameras to over 10,000 customers and its perception software is used by thousands of developers in industrial-grade applications. Ouster says it will maintain continuity for StereoLabs’ products, global customer base and developer community.

The co-founders of StereoLabs, Cecile Schmollgruber, Edwin Azzam and Olivier Braun, will continue to lead the StereoLabs team. In the press release, Schmollgruber said the goal is to enable machines to “sense, think, act and learn in the physical world” through unified vision and lidar sensing.

Ouster CEO Angus Pacala said the acquisition builds on the company’s momentum and positions it as a foundational end-to-end sensing and perception platform for Physical AI. He said seamless sensor fusion will simplify customer development and accelerate adoption of the combined technologies.

StereoLabs generated approximately $16 million in unaudited revenue in 2025 and is described in the press release as an EBITDA positive business that reinforces Ouster’s path to profitability.

The transaction was completed using a mix of approximately $35 million in cash and 1.8 million shares, of which 700,000 will be released over four years. Ouster will begin consolidating StereoLabs’ financial results in its financial statements in the first quarter of fiscal 2026.
