RFID-Leader AWID Named among Fastest Growing Tech Companies

Nov. 4, 2005
Company is ranked on Deloitte 500 fastest growing for third year in a row following company's 1178 percent growth

MORGAN HILL, Calif. - The 2005 Deloitte Technology Fast 500, for the third consecutive year, ranks Applied Wireless Identifications (AWID) as one of America's hottest RFID providers. This prestigious ranking of the 500 fastest growing technology companies in North America was released today. Rankings are based on percentage revenue growth over five years, from 2000-2004, resulting in AWID's Number 162 of all American technology companies.

AWID has twice being honored as one of only 25 companies designated "Rising Stars" by the Deloitte Technology Fast 500. AWID grew 1,178% percent during this period. "AWID's phenomenal growth puts it in select company," said Tony Kern, deputy managing principal of Deloitte's Technology, Media & Telecommunications industry practice.

Donny Lee, chairman and CEO, credits the company's growth to its focus on improving product quality and performance, while reducing prices. Lee explains, "We have worked extremely hard to produce high-quality RFID products that meet or exceed our customer's requirements, at realistic prices they can afford."

AWID recently announced the public availability of EPCglobal Generation 2 certified RFID readers for under $1,000. These models, their MPR-3014 and MPR-1510, proudly hold two out of the ten EPCglobal Generation 2 Certifications currently awarded. This hardware certification assures customers that products have been rigorously tested against EPCglobal standards.

"Attracting enough customers to attain such fast growth over five years makes a strong statement about the quality of a company's products and its leadership," said Kern. "We congratulate AWID on being one of the 500 fastest growing technology companies in North America."
