December 18, 2019, Vismo Global Tracking Solutions – vismo.com - today launches a major upgrade of Vismo, a next generation tracking portal and mobile tracking app that integrates with the portal and can be used on smartphones, tablets, personal GPS trackers and satellite devices.
Deploying state-of-the-art tracking technology and the latest security software, the new version of Vismo includes intuitive search for user location, points of interest, geo-fences and places - all accessed by administrators via a single search bar.

Two versions of the app
(i) The Vismo Global Traveler App is multi award-winning and has been used by employees of many businesses and other organizations round the world since launch in 2012, as a duty of care towards them by their employers - typically many Fortune 500 and FTSE 100 companies and NGOs. The new, upgraded version allows employer organizations to personalize the interface to specific requirements including using their own organization branding. The interface is fully customizable with colour choices, icons and performance options.
(ii) The Vismo Lone Worker App, unveiled at Global Security Exchange (GSX), Chicago, September 2019, helps to eliminate the risks of working alone without constant communication. It achieves this by providing detailed insights into yellow alert timed check-ins, assignments and location history, as well as other features designed to keep users safe.
The enhanced portal
New additions to the Vismo platform include dashboards that allow administrators to customize what is viewed on a map. The dashboards can be configured to show a particular app user or groups of app users, incidents, locations and map types. Dashboards ensure administrators can quickly access relevant users, locations and information to monitor their employees, saving vital time in an emergency situation. Integrating live incident feeds into the platform ensures users within an affected area are automatically identified and notified via mass notifications. Within the Vismo Global Traveler App, users can respond to notifications with their relevant safety status, which is sent to the portal for operations teams to take action. Incident Management ensures customers can manage and aid travelers effectively in a crisis situation.
Encrypted messaging is incorporated within the portal and app, enabling administration teams to securely communicate globally with individuals and groups.
It is crucial that an alert from a traveler is acknowledged and acted upon quickly and effectively as a quick response translates into lives saved. The ability to acknowledge an active alert within the portal informs other administrators that the alert is being dealt with, reducing any overlap or missed alerts.
Points of Interest (POI)
A “Point of Interest” can be added to a location on a map’s dashboard to help administrators gain a deeper understanding of a traveler’s location should an emergency arise. A POI can be anything, e.g. offices or a shop. It is a point on a map, with a radius around it of the administrator’s choosing - 50m, 100m, 10 miles or much more.
