National association gain strength as Arizona Alarm Association welcomed aboard

Although the National Burglar and Fire Alarm Association isn't quite national yet, the organization continues to move closer to its namesake.

The organization today announced that the Arizona Alarm Association was accepted a state-chartered chapter. The vote to approve the Arizona association was unanimous.

"NBFAA gave our board a presentation about the benefits of being a chapter and after seeing it and hearing what they had to say, we felt the time was right to become a chartered chapter. The AAA board recognizes that this relationship will increase our professionalism and enhance our members’ resources,” said Steve Compton, president of the Arizona Alarm Association.

NBFAA President Mike Miller said the national association welcomed Arizona "whole-heartedly."

"The industry will benefit from an even stronger alliance as Arizona joins 30 other chartered chapters of NBFAA. We look forward to working with them and their members," said Miller.

Part of the NBFAA's strength has been its national-level influence. Although based in Texas, the organization stays active at both the state level and the federal level on issues such as licensing, fire systems and more. Member companies in states without a state-chartered chapter can still join the NBFAA.
