Safeguard, a provider of security technologies in Scottsdale, Ariz., has purchased Aztec Home Systems. The acquisition brings Safeguard some 700 more residential accounts.

According to a statement from Safeguard, the company has been in growth mode despite an overall slow-down in the economy. The company has moved into a new corporate headquarters and reports that it "is using strategic acquisitions, innovative product launches and enhanced internal infrastructure to grow business."

"This acquisition makes a strong statement about where Safeguard is headed," said Safeguard CEO John Jennings. "We will continue to expand our business by examining any opportunity that makes sense for us and our clients. This is part of our continuing efforts to provide the absolute best service and product for our valued clientele."

"Our number one priority throughout this process was to find the absolute best home for our customers," said former Aztec Home Systems owner Mike Bertocchi.

The acquisition of Aztec Home Systems gives Safeguard over 16,400 residential and commercial accounts. The company offers security and monitoring, plus security patrol services. The company, which was founded in 1961, also has solutions for video surveillance, audio-visual systems, access control and water damage prevention.
