Patterson Heights, Penn., is likely to approve an ordinance this week that will help control false fire and burglar alarms. The new ordinance, which is expected to pass the town's council this week would assign fines to home or business owners for false alarms after a grace period.
According to a news report in the Beaver County Times, the first three false alarms would not be fined, but upon the fourth alarm, a $100 fee would be levied.
The town, like many others, is trying to control emergency response to false security or safety alerts.
