Honeywell Security Monitoring (HSM), which just last week acquired the accounts of Sylvester's Security Alarms of Santa Maria, Calif., is on the prowl again.
Now, the company has announced that it is purchasing a major national monitoring company, National Alarm Pro. National Alarm Pro, which has been based in Trumbull, Conn., will be selling the entirety of its accounts, which are spread across the U.S. as well as Canada and Puerto Rico. The company was specialized in commercial security, and had a number of customers in the retail sector, including such names as J. Crew, Gucci, The Home Depot, Barnes & Noble and other national brands.
"The National Alarm Pro acquisition gives us additional presence and market share, especially in the retail segment," said Tony Byerly, senior vice president of sales and national accounts for HSM in a prepared statement. "The purchase also improves our position as the number two provider of electronic security for national accounts in the United States."
Byerly added that National Alarm Pro accounts will be able to access HSM's online services, including the eDataManager and a forthcoming eVideoManager.
National Alarm Pro's president, Gregg Oxfeld, said that the acquisition by HSM will allow the company to offer better integrated systems and will add expertise in the loss prevention industry.
Financial terms for the acquisition of National Alarm Pro were not made public.
As part of the announcement, HSM also introduced a new performance rating program for itself, which will study HSM's overall performance with its national accounts. The study will research customer satisfaction in five areas: installation, service, monitoring, billing, and account management.
