Carrier acquires Danish alarm firm Cavius

Carrier on Tuesday announced that it has acquired Cavius, a Danish residential alarm company that offers a complete range of smoke, heat, flood and carbon monoxide detectors. Terms of the deal were not disclosed

In a statement, Carrier, which is the parent company of LenelS2, Onity, Supra, Kidde, Edwards, and a variety of other fire and security product brands, said that the acquisition would strengthen its residential fire safety solutions in Europe.

"The acquisition of Cavius, combined with the market strength of Kidde, will accelerate our innovation pipeline, grow our interconnected home safety offering and strengthen our professional and retail customer channels," said Jurgen Timperman, President, Carrier Fire & Security. "Cavius' broadly appealing products along with Carrier's geographic presence will also provide unique opportunities to expand into new territories acrossĀ EuropeĀ with the potential for further global expansion in key regions likeĀ Asia."

Additionally, the acquisition will also enhance Carrier'sĀ ā€œHealthy Homesā€Ā range inĀ Europe,Ā Australia and New ZealandĀ with new and uniquely designed products.
