SoundTube recently released its CM82-EZ-FS and CM82-EZs-FS fire signaling speakers.
Park City, Utah -- SoundTube Entertainment has announced the immediate availability of its new line of 8” in-ceiling speakers designed for fire signaling applications. The CM82-EZ-FS and CM82-EZs-FS speakers are UL 1480 UUMW listed for use in fire signaling and life safety installations and are also UL 2043 listed (the units are shipped with integrated steel backboxes for plenum applications).
The speakers incorporate an 8 inch (203 mm) polypropylene woofer with butyl rubber surround and a 1” (25.4 mm) silk tweeter, providing superior voice intelligibility with an average coverage angle of 95 degrees (2 – 10 kHz). A 10 µF capacitor is included on the input circuit for use with DC supervisory systems (used in fire signaling for line integrity monitoring); a 10W transformer includes taps at 10, 5, 2.5, 1.3 and 0.8 watts. The speakers are installed via a constant-tension, fixed-wing mounting system, and include a 21 gauge steel tile bridge. Models are available in both 3.5” short can and standard (5.75”) backcan depths.
“We’re pleased to add this category of speakers to our extensive line of in-ceiling products,” said Duke Ducoff, VP of Sales for MSE Audio. “Integrators can now cover all in-ceiling speaker needs, including emergency notification, with the same great audio performance they have come to expect from SoundTube.”
