Johnson Controls has introduced the fifth generations of its DSC PowerSeries Neo security system and IQ Panel, expanding its intrusion detection capabilities for residential and commercial environments.
The new solutions are designed to improve ease of use, customization and reliability while simplifying installations for integrators. The company will showcase the updates at ISC West 2026 in Las Vegas from March 23-27 at Booth #18019, where attendees can explore how the platforms align with evolving end-user expectations. Johnson Controls noted that 38% of recent home security buyers identify smart home features as a key trigger for purchasing a security system, underscoring the importance of user experience in these new offerings.
“The launches of PowerSeries Neo 5 and the IQ Panel 5 build on our market-leading security capabilities, introducing upgrades with impact for end-users and dealers,” said Faisal Pandit, president, Building Management Systems at Johnson Controls. “These solutions feature key innovations requested directly by our customers, prompting them to leverage familiar foundations while embracing newer enhancements that will better protect homes and businesses against modern threats.”
The DSC PowerSeries Neo 5 is built on a hybrid foundation and is designed as a flexible platform that can scale over time. It supports both wired and wireless configurations and aims to improve installation speed and quality while reducing operational costs. Efficiency enhancements may enable customers to save an average of $150 per truck roll and reduce service visit times by 1-3 hours.
Feature updates include compatibility with PowerG and PowerG + devices, customizable installation options through flexible enclosures, preassembled kits and communicators, and integrations with iTV2, Genetec, Software House and an open SDK to support expansion within established security ecosystems. The system also includes an updated thin bezel touchscreen with a smartphone-like interface and NFC proximity tag reader functionality that allows smartphones to be used as access control keycards.
The IQ Panel 5 is positioned as a future-ready panel with retooled internals based on customer feedback and SRF modularity to improve flexibility and scalability. Software updates will introduce new functionalities including AI features and smart device integrations.
Powered by a Qualcomm DragonWing processor from Qualcomm, the IQ Panel 5 includes embedded PowerG + wireless technology for security and automation. It also features a modular design intended to reduce SKUs and simplify installations, along with an updated design that includes a 13-megapixel PortraitView camera, improved mounting options, a glass-break detector and an adjustable desk stand.
The panel runs on the Android 14 operating system and offers a customizable user interface. The IQ Panel 5 is currently available in North America, while the PowerSeries Neo 5 will be available in the region in late 2026.
