MetTel Expands POTS Replacement Offering Through DataRemote Partnership

MetTel’s upgraded POTS Transformation solution integrates DataRemote’s POTS IN A BOX technology to help businesses replace aging copper lines with multicarrier wireless connectivity and extended backup power.
MetTel, a provider of digital transformation and communications services, has launched an upgraded POTS Transformation solution that embeds DataRemote’s 90X1 POTS IN A BOX technology into its managed network services portfolio.
The enhanced solution, developed through a strategic partnership with DataRemote, is designed to give businesses a certified alternative to aging copper telephone lines that are increasingly costly and unreliable for mission-critical voice and data services.
MetTel says the upgraded POTS Transformation includes several technical improvements. These include expanded alarm coverage with UL-864 compliance to support safety and compliance requirements for alarm equipment; multicarrier 5G connectivity with 4G fallback; dynamic, performance-based failover that monitors network quality and automatically switches carriers when needed; and extended battery backup that can provide up to 48 hours of standby power.
The company also highlighted nationwide coverage with multicarrier certification and compatibility with Starlink satellite networking.
The integrated 90X1 POTS IN A BOX unit is built to work with a range of analog devices businesses still rely on including fax machines, alarm systems, elevator lines and point-of-sale terminals. MetTel noted the product is fully compliant with the Trade Agreements Act.
MetTel also offers a lower-cost 4G-only version, the 90X2, that retains many of the core features for traditional POTS replacement.
"POTS Transformation is sweeping the nation with thousands of new installations at commercial enterprises and government facilities every month," said Marshall Aronow, CEO and Founder of MetTel. "By expanding our solution to increase compatibility and add 5G performance, MetTel and DataRemote are making the decision to transition from copper easier, more impactful and more cost-effective for business and government customers."
