Key Highlights

  • Xthings is redefining smart locks with Smart Access, combining presence sensing, biometrics, and interoperability for a natural, frictionless entry experience.
  • The ULTRALOQ Latch 7 Pro supports major ecosystems and standards, including Matter over Thread and Z-Wave Long Range, for broad compatibility and enhanced connectivity.
  • Bolt Sense uses dual biometric methods—3D facial recognition and palm vein authentication—for reliable, touch-free access in various lighting conditions.
  • The ULTRALOQ Bolt Mission UWB deadbolt offers automatic, secure entry that responds to user proximity, minimizing false triggers and enhancing convenience.

At CES 2026, Xthings is repositioning the smart lock as something users no longer have to think about. The company is using the global stage in Las Vegas to introduce what it calls Smart Access—an approach to front-door entry that blends presence sensing, biometric identity, and open interoperability to make unlocking feel automatic, secure, and natural.

Under its CES theme, “Connect Future,” Xthings is moving away from point-feature “smart locks” toward a unified access experience that works across ecosystems and standards. Through its ULTRALOQ product line, the company is combining Ultra-Wideband (UWB) proximity unlock, planned Aliro support for NFC and UWB digital keys, next-generation biometrics, and broader compatibility via Matter and Z-Wave. The goal: a front door that recognizes who you are and responds accordingly—without friction, apps, or manual steps.

“Keyless entry shouldn’t feel like a workflow,” said Raj Sundar, senior director of product management at Xthings. “The next era of smart access is invisible—your credentials, your proximity, and your biometric identity working together securely, so your home responds naturally to you.”

Two New Flagship Locks Debut

Headlining Xthings’ CES announcements are two new ULTRALOQ locks, each designed for a different path to frictionless entry.

ULTRALOQ Latch 7 Pro, available in Q1 2026, is positioned as a standards-first, latch-style smart lock designed for both real-world residential use and professional installations. Built to BHMA/ANSI requirements, Latch 7 Pro is intended to operate across major smart-home ecosystems without locking users into a single proprietary platform.

The lock features planned Aliro support to enable future universal digital keys, along with Matter over Thread for fast, local-first connectivity. For installations that rely on Z-Wave, Latch 7 Pro will also support Z-Wave Long Range on the Z-Wave 800 Series platform, extending coverage, improving battery efficiency, and reducing the need for repeaters in many deployments.

ULTRALOQ Bolt Sense, slated for Q2 2026, takes a different approach—treating biometric identity itself as the credential. Designed for a true “walk-up and enter” experience, Bolt Sense combines 3D facial recognition with palm vein authentication, a touch-free biometric method that reads sub-surface vein patterns.

Xthings says the dual-biometric design is intended to be more forgiving than fingerprints, handling wet or dry hands, worn fingerprints, low light, and hands-full arrivals. Active approach sensing eliminates the need to search for sensors or keypads. At the same time, advanced infrared and adaptive low-light imaging are designed to maintain accuracy from total darkness to bright daylight. Bolt Sense includes built-in Wi-Fi and planned Matter support to integrate cleanly into modern smart-home environments.

Bolt Mission UWB Now Shipping

Xthings also announced that the ULTRALOQ Bolt Mission UWB deadbolt—first unveiled at CES 2025—is now available for purchase. Powered by Ultra-Wideband technology, Bolt Mission UWB delivers hands-free access that unlocks automatically as users arrive, while minimizing false triggers and maintaining security. The product represents a near-term realization of the company’s Smart Access vision: automatic, secure, and unobtrusive entry.

A Broader Roadmap on Display

Beyond shipping products, ULTRALOQ is using CES 2026 to preview its broader smart-lock roadmap. On display are upcoming locks built on the Z-Wave 800 Series platform, featuring S2 security, SmartStart provisioning, Z-Wave Long Range support, and improved battery efficiency. The company is also highlighting the continued expansion of its Matter-based portfolio to enable broader cross-platform compatibility across Apple, Amazon Alexa, Google, and other leading smart-home ecosystems.

The full ULTRALOQ lineup is on display at CES 2026 at the Xthings booth, Venetian Expo, Booth #52317.
