'Jackass' star arrested at Los Angeles airport

Johnny Knoxville allegedly caught with fake grenade in luggage

Jackass star Johnny Knoxville was grilled by airport police in Los Angeles for carrying a fake grenade in his hand luggage.

The comic actor was detained after a security screener detected the item in his carry-on bag.

Knoxville, 37, was catching an American Airlines flight from terminal 4 when security spotted the suspicious item.

He was detained by airport cops, charged and released. The charge is believed to be carrying a "prohibited item" into an airport.

Knoxville is best-known as the co-creator and principal star of the MTV daredevil series Jackass.

The show features Knoxville and a group of pals performing shocking stunts that often leave them in agony.

Knoxville has also appeared movies, including as The Dukes of Hazzard and The Ringer.
