WASHINGTON -- Thomas Rice, the federal security director at Port Columbus International Airport, has been named acting federal security director (FSD) at Pittsburgh International Airport, the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) announced today.
"Tom Rice's exemplary management style and commitment to security will ensure top-notch leadership for TSA at Pittsburgh. His dedication and proven track record as a skilled manager in Columbus will facilitate a seamless transition and continuation of operations for the work force and the traveling public," said Rear Adm. David M. Stone, USN (Ret.), assistant secretary of Homeland Security for TSA.
Rice replaces Robert Blose, the federal security director at Pittsburgh since 2002. Blose announced his resignation earlier today for personal reasons.
TSA expects to announce new, permanent leadership for the Pittsburgh airport in the coming weeks.
