Barracuda Networks has acquired Evo Security, an identity and access management (IAM) provider built for managed service providers (MSPs), expanding the identity security capabilities of its BarracudaONE platform.
“As AI accelerates the speed and scale of identity-centric attacks, this combination is uniquely positioned to help organizations big and small stay ahead of these threats,” said Barracuda CEO Rohit Ghai.
The acquisition combines Evo Security’s identity solutions with Barracuda’s existing identity-driven controls to create a unified identity security architecture through a single platform. The company said the expanded BarracudaONE platform unifies privileged access management (PAM), access control, identity protection and identity threat detection and response.
Barracuda said the integrated platform provides MSPs with a multi-tenant environment to manage identity security across customer environments while reducing the need to deploy and manage multiple security tools. The company said customers will have access to an AI-infused identity security platform designed to simplify deployment and operations.
The expanded BarracudaONE platform includes a four-layer identity security architecture that the company said is designed to address identity and privilege misuse, detect identity-based threats, strengthen authentication and access controls, and improve visibility across identities, devices and infrastructure.
According to Barracuda, Evo Security’s IAM capabilities provide authentication, privileged access management and identity administration designed for MSP operations. The combined platform also incorporates identity threat detection and response, phishing-resistant passwordless authentication, adaptive access controls and centralized identity management.
Barracuda said the platform is designed to integrate with existing security environments rather than require organizations to replace existing infrastructure. The company said the platform also supports third-party security tools through open integration capabilities.
The acquisition expands Barracuda’s portfolio of cybersecurity offerings for MSPs as the company continues to develop identity-focused capabilities within the BarracudaONE platform.
Financial terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.
