Gigamon has appointed Grant Yacomeni as its new chief information security officer (CISO), where he will oversee information and product security, cybersecurity and IT operations, as well as governance, risk and compliance (GRC).

Yacomeni will report to Chief Operating Officer Gareth Maclachlan and will focus on strengthening Gigamon’s security strategy while bringing a practitioner perspective to customers addressing growing cyber risk and operational complexity in the Hybrid AI era.

The appointment comes as organizations increasingly integrate AI across applications, workflows and business processes. Gigamon said the connections among AI models, applications, infrastructure and sensitive data are expanding both opportunities and cybersecurity risks.

According to Gigamon’s 2026 Hybrid Cloud Security Survey of more than 1,000 security and IT leaders, 33 percent of respondents reported that their AI/LLM systems were targeted in breaches during the past year.

Yacomeni brings more than a decade of cybersecurity and national security experience to Gigamon. Before joining the company, he held leadership positions within the United States Intelligence Community, including the Department of Defense, where he led enterprise security programs and 24x7 defensive cyber operations.

He also previously served in intelligence and cybersecurity roles with the Maryland Army National Guard and is a U.S. Marine Corps veteran.

In his new role, Yacomeni will focus on managing cyber risk while supporting secure innovation and operations. He will also engage with customers and industry leaders as organizations adapt their security strategies to hybrid cloud infrastructure increasingly shaped by AI.

“Grant has spent his career operating in some of the world’s most demanding cybersecurity environments,” said Maclachlan. “His experience will be invaluable as we strengthen security across Gigamon and bring an even deeper practitioner perspective to our customers.”

Yacomeni said AI increases the stakes for security leaders because it can act on information at a speed and scale that organizations have not previously faced.
