ImageWare Systems Sponsors Global Border Control Summit

Global event to highlight latest technology and address implementation issues at borders

SAN DIEGO -- ImageWare Systems, Inc., a world leading developer and provider of identity management solutions, has agreed to co-sponsor, present and exhibit at the Global Border Control Technology Summit, the leading event for international governments, vendors and integrators involved in the global deployments of biometrics for travel documents, border control and national identity schemes. The Summit will be held at the Selfridge Hotel in London on July 11-12, 2005.

Bill Willis, Senior Vice President of Technology and Business Development, ImageWare Systems, will speak on two panels: Resolving Outstanding Technical and Industrial Issues Relating to the Development of Border Control and Identification Systems on July 11 at 5:15 pm; and Practical and Technical Implementation Issues Relating to Biometric Passports on July 12th at 3:30 pm. Bill will also touch on the strengths and weaknesses of this new and inventive technology as well as privacy risks relating to biometrics.

As an active participant in this event, ImageWare will work with government agency representatives to discuss and demonstrate the implementation of the company's new technologies for border passage and security, travel documentation and ID schemes. With representatives from immigration departments, airport authorities, government interior ministries and prime contractors, the Global Border Control Technology Summit is responsible for facilitating networking, knowledge sharing and the development of new partnerships. Attendees of the summit will discuss issues relating to the roll-out of nation wide biometric systems as well as obtaining the latest information and updates on the October 2005 deadline from the US Department of Homeland Security.
