Focus on High Security

This year, the Lockmasters SCIFMasters booth will have several exciting new products and training opportunities to showcase, including the introduction of two new high-security SCIF door locks.

“These new products expand our SCIF security solutions and demonstrate our continued commitment to developing products specifically designed to address the evolving requirements of sensitive and mission-critical facilities,” notes Keaton. “We will also be introducing our RF Window Film solutions, giving attendees another option for addressing RF security requirements while complementing the physical security of the overall facility.”

Keaton adds that together these new products reinforce the SCIFMasters approach of providing comprehensive solutions rather than focusing on a single component of a secure facility.

New Education and Training

Another major focus will be Lockmasters three-day Site Security Manager Training, which is a program designed to provide security professionals with the knowledge and practical understanding they need to effectively manage the unique security requirements of a SCIF or other sensitive facility.

“We see training as a critical part of the security equation,” says Keaton. “Having the right products is only one piece of the puzzle; having knowledgeable professionals who understand how to manage and maintain those systems is equally important. For us, the booth will be about more than simply displaying new products. It will be about demonstrating how SCIFMasters brings together high-security products, expertise, installation knowledge, and training to help customers build and maintain secure facilities.”

Keaton points out that training and education is a major area of growth, with three new courses added to the 2027 Lockmasters Security Institute training schedule, which represents their commitment to keeping security professionals current with rapidly changing technology and requirements:

·         Kaba Mas X-10 Operation & Troubleshooting – focused on practical operation, troubleshooting, and technical problem-solving for the X-10.

·         Advanced LKM10K Troubleshooting – providing experienced technicians with more advanced troubleshooting knowledge and hands-on experience with the LKM10K Lock Series.

·         GSA Safe & Vault Technician Technical Refresher – designed to help experienced GSA technicians refresh and strengthen their technical skills and stay current with the requirements of their role.

“The expansion of our training curriculum reflects an important part of the Lockmasters philosophy: security technology is only as effective as the people who install, service, operate, and maintain it,” she says. “Providing specialized, hands-on education helps our customers maintain a higher level of technical expertise long after the initial installation.”

Technology Trends to Watch

One of the trends Lockmasters’ SCIFMasters is watching very closely is the continued evolution of RF security requirements and the implementation of more clearly defined RF performance standards for SCIFs.

“As the Intelligence Community continues to refine its technical specifications, RF protection is becoming an increasingly important consideration in the design, construction, and renovation of secure facilities,” Keaton explains. “The current IC Technical Specification establishes requirements and best practices for implementing ICS 705 and specifically addresses protection against compromising emanations.”

For SCIFMasters, this represents a significant opportunity, she adds, noting, “We are excited about technologies that can help customers meet these evolving requirements in a measurable, repeatable, and properly documented way. This includes RF-shielded doors, RF window solutions and films, shielding materials, and other components that contribute to the RF integrity of the SCIF envelope.”

This RF trend aligns directly with the SCIFMasters philosophy of bringing together products, technical expertise, installation knowledge, and training. “We want to be prepared not only to supply the products, but to help our customers understand how evolving RF standards affect the entire facility,” says Keaton.

Security Industry Remains Strong

As we look at the rest of 2026 and to 2027, Lockmasters believes the security industry is in a very strong position.

“We are absolutely bullish on the future of the security industry,” says Keaton. “We believe the demand for qualified security professionals and effective physical-security solutions will continue to grow as threats become more complex and organizations place greater emphasis on resilience.”

While the company has an overall positive outlook, it also sees the industry facing some of the most significant changes we have seen in years, as the threat landscape continues to evolve, technology advances rapidly, and organizations increasingly recognize that physical security, cybersecurity, and operational security can no longer be viewed as completely separate disciplines.

“From the Lockmasters’ SCIFMasters perspective, that creates tremendous opportunity,” she points out, noting that industry organizations are emphasizing the need for a more integrated approach to evolving cyber and physical threats. “As facilities become more connected and security requirements become more sophisticated, the importance of the physical security envelope — including high-security doors and locks, RF protection, access control, and properly trained personnel — remains critical.”

She continues, “We are particularly encouraged by the growing emphasis on skills, training, and continuous education. Recent industry research shows that organizations are increasingly focused on developing the right skills rather than simply adding more personnel.
