ATLANTA — GSX 2026 wrapped up three days at the Georgia World Congress Center with the security industry once again confronting a familiar challenge: keeping pace with rapidly advancing technology while determining where it can deliver practical value.
Presented by ASIS Int'l, the Sept. 14-16 event brought together more than 500 exhibitors across more than 190,000 square feet of exhibit space, along with more than 200 education sessions covering issues across the security profession. At publication of this article, ASIS had not yet released a final attendance figure for the 2026 event.
For SecurityInfoWatch, coverage began on a busy opening day as attendees filled a tightly configured exhibit hall where artificial intelligence, integrated security operations, video, monitoring and new approaches to response were among the early technology themes.
AI was difficult to escape on the show floor, but SIW's conversations during the event also reflected a more pragmatic discussion taking place among security professionals.
On Day 2, SIW asked seven industry executives about the issues they are hearing from customers and partners. Their answers ranged from sorting through a rapidly expanding field of technology and determining what provides genuine value to improving operational outcomes, maintaining reliable service and considering what comes next for access control.
The common thread was less about technology for technology's sake and more about whether new capabilities solve real problems and can be put to practical use.
That discussion played out across an exhibit floor filled with new product introductions, demonstrations and updates spanning video surveillance, access control, artificial intelligence, monitoring, robotics and integrated security platforms.

The three days in Atlanta ultimately provided both a look at where security technology is heading and a reminder that introducing another capability is only part of the equation. Across SIW's conversations at GSX, questions about integration, usability, reliability and measurable outcomes repeatedly surfaced alongside the industry's accelerating adoption of AI.
GSX moves to Orlando in 2027, where the industry will reconvene Sept. 20-22 at the Orange County Convention Center.
