Fresh for 2011!-ADI's A/V Product Catalog highlights its full line of residential and commercial solutions in 70-plus pages. Products include speakers, receivers, amplifiers and additional audiovisual devices from over 40 manufacturers. The catalog is available throughout North America in print and online and also features editorial pages from manufacturers.

VMS Platform Upgrade-Aimetis Symphony(tm) Version 6.5 features added user benefits, including improved server farm options which allow automatic server failover; out-of-box video wall functionality; an improved people counter; and enhanced business intelligence reporting.

Faster Delivery for the 'Core'-Arrow Pointe SFIC cores are now available through Arrow Express, an express shipment program providing a five-day lead time for the popular SFIC keyways. The suite of SFIC products is made of solid brass with a reinforced sleeve design, fits existing Best(r) hardware and is available in most Best(r) keyways and other systems.

Day/Night and IR-Capable Cameras-Arecont Vision's MegaView(tm) line of all-in-one Day/Night H.264 megapixel cameras are enclosed in IP66 (environmentally rated) and vandal-resistant cylindrical (bullet-style) housings. Power options include PoE to power only the camera or 24V AC or 12-48V DC to also support the heater and IR LED array. The IR ring is also easily field-upgradeable.

Double the Network Cameras-Panasonic System Networks Company of America i-PRO SmartHD security network cameras (model WV-SP105 and model WV-SP102) record 720p HD images at up to 30 frames-per-second (fps) with multiple H.264 (high profile) and JPEG video streams. Features include Adaptive Black Stretch (ABS) technology for wide dynamic range; and Digital Noise Reduction (3D-DNR).

Jump for Joysticks-The IPD Ultima from CH Products features a three axis joystick for intuitive control of pan, tilt and zoom camera functions. Additional features include a premium, soft-touch business blue coating; 10 vibrant high-efficiency LED pushbutton switches; and a USB 1.1 HID-compliant interface..

Manage Network Traffic-The CWFE8TX8MS, an addition to ComNet's ComWorx VL line, offers eight 10/100TX RJ-45 electrical ports, is fully managed and offers a self-contained power supply. It features IGMP snooping and Spanning Tree commonly found on switches with much higher initial costs. ComNet does not offer a fiber interface with this switch, adhering to end-user needs for a simple managed Ethernet solution.

Threaded Rod Installation-The CADDY(r) ROD LOCK, a threaded rod mounting system from ERICO, is designed to help reduce the installation of threaded rod by up to 52 percent compared to conventional fasteners. The system includes the CADDY ROD LOCK beam clamp and channel nut.

Iris Recognition Technology-Priced to compete with generic card readers, the EyeSwipe-NanoTM iris-biometrics system from Hoyos Corp. captures the irises of people from a distance and in motion at a rate of 20 people per minute. The product is slated for commercial availability first quarter 2011.

Transmission for Unconditioned Environments-KBC Networks' series of environmentally-hardened broadcast products enable video transmission distances to be extended over a single multimode or single mode fiber. The range includes DVI, HDMI, 3G-SDI and HD-SDI standalone fiber units as well as a multi-interface 'computer on a fiber' interface.

Child Location System-KidSpotter is a location device that integrates wireless and satellite networks together with mobile technologies to create an advanced location solution. Upon entry to a KidSpotter-enabled venue, parents can rent a "Spotter," a small GPS and wireless wristwatch-like device that broadcasts the child's location to the KidSpotter server.

ID Card Printer Launch-Magicard's Rio Pro printer replaces its Rio and Tango printers. Users can batch print with the 100-card feeder or print one-offs with the hand feeder. The printer is available in single- or double-sided printing versions and features a clear four-line display, providing intelligent user information and interaction.

Portable Card Reader Solutions-RF Ideas' pcProx and AIR ID USB Dongle, pcProx PCMCIA and the new pcProx ExpressCard are convenient portable card readers for proximity and contactless smart card technologies. The pcProx ExpressCard is designed to provide interchangeability among computers and other devices where low power and small size are critical.

Electronic Access Control-The CyberLock System from Videx secures physical and cyber assets at remote locations with no access to power. It uses the mechanical lock hardware and padlocks already being used at a site and does not require any additional wiring. Visit 111.

Beef Up Workstation Performance-The Matrox Extio F2408, a remote graphics solution from Matrox Graphics Inc., separates up to four high resolution displays plus USB keyboard, mouse and other HIDs from the host system by up to 1 kilometer of fiber-optic cable. It features five USB 2.0 ports, passive cooling and independent and stretched mode support for 4x1 and 2x2 configurations.

Virtual Software Environments-The SCVM, a virtual software appliance from StoneFly Inc., can provision fully managed and featured storage to local and network VMs through virtual switch or physical network connection. This virtual appliance is equipped to configure with popular virtual environments such as VMWare, Microsoft's Hyper-V and XEN hypervisors and virtual environments.

Cut Installation Time-Premier Mounts' model-specific projector reduces installation time with mounting-hole patterns designed for specific projector models. Simply attach the mounting plate to the projector, then hook and fasten the mounting plate/projector assembly to the mount.

Plug n' Play Dome IP Camera-The 9076-FXD HD Fixed Dome IP camera from Aviosys is equipped with all the features of the 9070 IP Kamera series but in a dome casing. It provides picture and streaming at 1280x720P resolution and CNT technology for easier device set-up.

Central Station Monitoring Solutions-The ADPRO Platform from XTralis allows central stations and video monitoring centers to take steps for proactive early detection and video monitoring. The product suite includes the ADPRO VideoCentral software application; the ADPRO V3100; the ADPRO Presidium (pictured) which provides video motion and analytics detection; and the ADPRO PRO passive infrared detectors.

Overcome Network Distance-The OmniConverterTM media converter from Omnitron Systems Technology enables fiber connectivity up to 140 kilometers from video servers and network equipment. It is installed at the end of the fiber run and is located near an AC or DC power source, where it converts the fiber to UTP and injects PoE over the cabling to power the IP camera.

Sassy SaaS-The integration between SaaS-based solutions, Brivo's ACS WebService(r) and PPM's Perspective(tm) Incident Reporting and Investigation Management software means that select access control events can be passed to an incident reporting system for documentation, analysis and follow-up. Direct transfer of data from one system to another eliminates human error and duplicate data entry.

Improved Gate Operation-An expanded feature of Linear's LRA Gate Operator is now available: two gate leaves can now be controlled via a single controller. The updated Model LRA residential swing-arm Gate Operator uses a DC motor control board that interfaces with a single APeX(tm) controller, operating actuator arms for two gate leaves, each with a maximum weight of 600 pounds and a maximum length of 16 feet.

IP Communication Migration-The IPGSM-COM from Honeywell Power Products is a UL-listed primary fire alarm communicator that provides Contact ID reporting via IP or GSM cellular pathways. Using the Honeywell AlarmNet communications network, triple-path redundancy provides superior connectivity for life safety systems. An IP path is used for primary communications and GPRS GSM cellular for back-up. Should GPRS become unavailable, the unit switches over to SMS communications.

Transmit Data Over This Wireless Bridge-Atop's Wireless Client Adaptor EW5300-WgN1 is a bridge between wireless LAN and Ethernet to transmit information transparently to both host computers (IP network over wireless LAN) and device (Ethernet). EW5300-WgN1 could be communicated with a remote device in the Intranet environment or even in the Internet.

Possibilities of Edge Recording-IONODES' ION-E1610 multi-port encoder boasts many additions over its little brother (ION-E1600), such as on-board SATA storage (up to 3TB) and built-in eight-port switch. It was designed to help combine the power of H.264 video encoding of analog video inputs, the reliability of solid state boot drive and the convenience of on-board storage.

Mount Up-Video Mount Products (VMP) FP-LFVB Low-Profile Flush Wall Mount holds most 42- to 63-inch flat panels up to 150 pounds. The FP-LFVB has a maximum flat panel hole pattern of 890mm x 540mm and comes in a black powder-coat finish. A silver powder-coat finish is also available (FP-LFV).

Real-time Alarm Verification-Cernium's CheckVideo(r) video alarm verification solution, integrated with SureView Systems' Immix(r) video-based automation software platform, allows central stations and corporate command centers to verify alarms through real-time analysis of monitored video. CheckVideo generates video events based on the actual presence of people or vehicles and presents them to central station operators through a single, easy-to-use, Immix interface.

Video and Access Control Integration-A new software module from OnSSI integrates its video management system with the latest version (v1.93) of Software House's C-CURE 9000 security and event management system. Users can instantly launch video associated with access control events, visually verify and investigate activity at access points and receive events from the video system.

Biometric/Access Control Fusion-A partnership between FST21 Ltd. and HID Global allows organizations to add HID's RFID readers to access points around buildings, complementing the combination of face recognition, voice recognition, pattern of behavior license plate recognition and visitor management system from FST21. In addition, card holders can now be enrolled using the FST21 system.

Vertical Field of View-Axis' Corridor Format camera allows a vertical field of view for improved surveillance in narrow areas of interest such as staircases, hallways and aisles. This design helps maximize image quality while eliminating typical bandwidth and storage waste of landscape-type viewing formats. It is ideal for HDTV network cameras that deliver a 16:9 aspect ratio.

Lock Lubricant Protection-The Lock Lubricant from Master Lock Co. comes with PTFE formulation for padlocks, door locks, automotive, marine and multipurpose applications. It cleans the lock components but also lubricates and forms a protective shield against natural elements such as dust, dirt or moisture that can cause damage.
