Preparing Technicians For A Tougher Test
Security Products Company, the oldest wholesale distributor in the Midwest, recently hosted the first of its kind Ohio Fire Alarm License Test prep class. The five and a half hour class was designed and taught by our own Security Dealer Fire Alarm Expert Greg Kessinger, also of Zenith Design. It was given to prepare technicians for the new, more challenging state license test given. Immediately following the class, Security Products invited a representative of the Ohio State Fire Marshal’s office to administer the test. Security Products Company and several fire alarm manufacturers facilitated OBFAA members to attend the prep class at no charge.

“While training and education is just part of our service commitment to customers, we feel that it is an extremely important piece,” says Dini Jones, president of Security Products Company.

“We try to give our dealers the best tools available so they are able grow their businesses,” she says. “We offer several seminars every month that range from pure technical and product reviews to sales and marketing support.” For more information on the State License requirements, visit http://www.com.state.oh.us/sfm/.

    Get Wired
ADI releases its premiere Wire and Cable Pocket Guide, marking the first time ADI has printed a mini-version of its annual catalog. It’s designed for dealers to carry in their pockets and use as a quick reference guide for part numbers, product descriptions and technical information. ADI created this quick reference tool so dealers, while out on a job site, can contact a branch or an ADI Systems Sales and Support group to check pricing and availability of wire and cable products.

The 2005 guide features all the major subcategories of wire and cable. New products are also debuting in this guide, including buried cable and under carpet cable.
