SAN DIEGO and MCLEAN, Va. , April 14 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Science Applications International Corporation (NYSE: SAI) announced today that it was awarded a U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) award for Mentor-Protege Program Excellence. The company was recognized for assisting its protege firm, SpecPro Environmental Services, LLC (SES), with the U.S. Army Small Business Programs sponsored by the U. S. Army Corps of Engineers, Nashville District. This is the twelfth time that SAIC has been selected to receive a Nunn-Perry Award.
SAIC has been an active participant in the DoD Mentor-Protege Program for 16 years and has been recognized by the government for its participation in other civilian agency small business programs. SAIC has mentored more than 70 firms under the DoD and other civilian agency programs and continues to help develop the business and technical capabilities that bring value to the sponsoring government agencies.
SES is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Bristol Bay Native Corp., an Alaskan Native 8(a) company headquartered in Huntsville, Ala. , with a major office location in Oak Ridge, Tenn.
