General Dynamics Awarded $146 Million U.S. Air Force Simulations, Training and Experimentation Contract

FAIRFAX, Va., Nov. 5 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- General Dynamics Information Technology, a business unit of General Dynamics (NYSE: GD), has been awarded a contract to support the U.S. Air Force Simulations, Training and Experimentation Program. The contract has a potential value of $146 million over five years if all options are exercised.

General Dynamics will provide staffing support to Air Force agencies to conduct operational strategy concept development, operational/regional politico-military analysis and capabilities assessments, as well as war and mobilization planning. The company will support planning and conduct of the Air Force Title 10 mid-term wargame, "Unified Engagement." General Dynamics has provided similar services to the Air Force since October 2001 . The work will be performed primarily in Arlington and Hampton Roads, Va.

In May 2007 , the General Dynamics-Air Force team received the 2007 Department of Defense Modeling and Simulation Common and Cross-Cutting Award at the Defense Modeling and Simulation Conference.
