Presidential Advisors on Homeland Security to Address Conference

WASHINGTON, Oct. 17 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The Middle East Institute holds its 61st Annual Conference in Washington DC , October 30, 2007 at the National Press Club.

Frances Fragos Townsend, the President's Advisor on Homeland Security and a counterterrorism expert, will be the luncheon speaker at noon. Richard Clarke , former Presidential Advisor on Homeland Security and author of Against All Enemies: Inside America's War on Terror-What Really Happened, will give the keynote address on October 30 at 9 am . His Excellency, Abdullah Alireza, Minister of State, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and one of King Abdullah's close economic advisors, will deliver closing remarks.

New York Times' London Bureau Chief John Burns will speak about his experiences reporting in Iraq at MEI's 61st Annual Conference Banquet October 29 at 7 pm .

MEI's Annual Conference, "The Middle East in 2010" brings together US, European and Middle East scholars who will tackle the threats and complex challenges facing the region -- from radicalization of Palestinian refugees to post-Iraq jihadism. Participants will look at how to deal with these and other critical issues affecting US relations with the region.
