The Associated Press reports that the U.S. House has passed a bill that would ban TikTok from the U.S. unless the social media platform’s China-based owner, ByteDance, sells its stake within a year.

The Associated Press reports that the U.S. House has passed a bill that would ban TikTok from the U.S. unless the social media platform’s China-based owner, ByteDance, sells its stake within a year.

The bill was included as part of a larger foreign-aid package for Ukraine and Israel. Last month the House passed a standalone bill that gave ByteDance six months to sell its stake. The modified measure passed on a 360-58 vote and goes to the Senate for negotiation, the Associated Press said.
