Firetide to present at BICSI Winter Conference

Jan. 7, 2009
Industry expert to share critical success factors in real-time wireless video deployments

Los Gatos, Calif., Jan. 6, 2009 – In response to growing demand for information on technology, design and deployment issues facing systems integrators, consultants, security directors and law enforcement professionals when implementing a wireless video surveillance network, Firetide will deliver an authoritative presentation on deploying wireless networks to secure business operations, improve situational awareness and protect property, employees and the public.

What:

Wireless Security & Surveillance – Challenge or Opportunity? Critical Success Factors in Real-time Wireless Security and Surveillance Deployments

Using real-world examples based on projects for municipalities, police departments, commercial and industrial facilities, the session will provide an understanding of how to use wireless technology to:

  • Cover areas previously cost-prohibitive or impractical to cover with a wired network
  • Reduce time required for permitting process and installation
  • Deliver temporary and remote monitoring for special events, construction projects or until a permanent system can be installed

Attendees will also receive answers to other key issues, including:

  • Steps to ensure successful network design, deployment and management
  • Key wireless technologies available and how to pick the right one for the job
  • Integrating wireless with wired networks

The presentation will draw heavily on real-world examples and deployment scenarios from various Firetide installations, which include the Dallas Police Department, Burj Dubai Tower in United Arab Emirates (the tallest building in the world), Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority (Boston), NASA Dryden Flight Research Center, Steveston Harbor Authority (largest commercial fishing harbor in Canada) – and Page (Ariz.) Airport.
